Reveling With The Beauties (Thetakemedia.com)
The Take Media on The Beauties Show, September 17, 2010:
“The Beauties are seasoned musicians. This much is noticeable from the strides they take when they walk out onstage. It becomes even more evident once they plunge into their roots/rock/country-tinged tunes, and storm through song after song with a raucous yet ebullient energy. In a set filled with hip-swinging beats, twangy guitars, and impressive instrumental interludes, it is hard to find a moment you don’t want to revel in.”
Toronto is lucky to have them (Exclaim.ca)
Exclaim raves about the packed house at the Beauties latest Friday night showing at the Horseshoe:
And then came the Beauties. In a May 26 article for the Toronto Star, band member Creamer is quoted, “The fact is, we already know we’re a good bar band. We’ve got that sh-t down.” You’re darn tootin’ they do. They walked on stage and started right in on their relentlessly rock and twang filled set in front of a packed Horseshoe. They play because they love to play and it shows.

Hard Work Pays off at NXNE (Spinner.ca)
Spinner.ca reviews the Beauties performance at the NXNE Outlaws and Gunslingers Showcase, and decides it was well worth missing a Celtics and Lakers game 7. Touted by many as Toronto’s best bar band — quite literally, they hold down a longtime Sunday residency at the Dakota Tavern — they certainly didn’t disappoint, playing a rollicking [...]
Unusual Breadth for a Debut (thecoast.ca)
A review from The Coast in Halifax calls attention to the variety and breadth of songwriting on the Beauties debut: “Four of the six write, so this has unusual breadth for a debut. Shawn Creamer’s lament to the sky Heart of Stone balances Darin McConnell’s rousers like “Die Die Die.” The tune that’ll stick with [...]
Four ‘N’s for Beauties’ Album (Now Magazine)
Now Magazine agrees with all the folks who were already sold by the band’s live performance, but are further blown away and surprised at the depth of the album. “While the Dakota favourites could easily have treated the full-length as a recorded document of their rollicking, booze-soaked live shows, they instead crafted an album of [...]
